I like how the ad says that it was "started and very well done" and it very obviously was not very well done.

I do not think that means what he thinks it does, unless it means "holy E36 M3 I got it to stick together"

I just realized that a Corsair 2 door wagon with coupe doors would look just right.

That thing shows up for sale every couple of years.  First time I saw it was around 2004. Some day I'm going to get another Lakewood and do it up with coupe doors and quarter sections to get the high wheel arch.

i LOL'd.

in dan's defense, what he bought from me was a basically straight and rust-free (45 years in Colorado) outer shell with wasted floors, wasted interior, a decent stock '64 powertrain, and a half-done disc brake conversion, so it was a blank canvas. honestly, he did me a favor by buying it, as it opened up space and provided part of the $ i needed to buy my '86 944.

I would love to know the order of events and thought processes that took it this far.

That scar across the roof is what? Too wide to be a weld seam.

What gap? Obviously this was "well done" so don't question the fact the door is missing a few inches to reach the latch......

In reply to dherr (Forum Supporter) :

it looks like they kept the B-pillar which has the latch for the front door. then they just cut out everything between the B- and C-pillar. they kept the C-pillar which has the latch for the rear door.

In reply to NOHOME :

The wagon roof is higher over the backseat and cargo area than it is over the front seat area.  I'm guessing they just overlapped the two.

IMO, the "right" way to build a shorty Lakewood is to step away from the meth pipe and put down the sawzall, at least until after i find my next one.

Even in my inebriated state I can tell that that isn't a high bar.

I'm not saying it's good, but I'm definitely saying that someone here should buy it and make it a Challenge car.

In reply to AngryCorvair :

That makes sense and explains the latched door AND the C post latch.

With the unique powers of hindsight, I think I could have done that much better. The need for the roof panel "Step" is not unsurmountable.
