Well I'll be......
....wife thinks this is not a bad idea & approves!
Excellent because if you bailed i was ready to pick up the pieces and tell my wife probably not until after she asked about the new car
Today is a sad day, etifosi has committed to the Datsun. When will I learn to keep my mouth shut when I find cool stuff.
Truly it is more for self preservation, my wife drives an old Mazda that she hates. This would have been the fourth car purchased this year for me.
My explanation was that my cars go up in value or break even, her cars are purchased, trashed over a few years until they have no value then sold for peanuts. There for I'm not really spending money as much as I am saving it in a fun yield savings account.
It's a sad day for everyone but the chosen ,
Let’s play the good the bad and the ugly.
This is good.
Fresh refinished western wheels with RR Proxes and full instrumentation.
More good, an extra drivetrain, running 1200 with 4 speed, dizzy, alt, and a Weber.
Header too.
The bad.
How many zip ties do you count in this picture.
After sitting all winter it fired right up and appears to run fine. The engine swap is a little shaky for my tastes but apparently works, throttle cable and trans mount would get my first attention.
He runs it without a fan, the spare radiator has one on it though.
No key just a start button.
Some kind of limited slip or locked rear at a 4.?? to 1 ratio.

It's not so much the number that concerns me, it's the location. Are my eyes deceiving me or are zip ties an essential part of the throttle return mechanism?
I would have so much fun just correcting the little things on this. I’m preparing a box of random brackets for the next owner. Unless this is too scary and I have to keep it.

What year is this from?
It's probably about the same age as you.
I only bought this because it was advertised as a 1974, same year as me. I don’t like many cars from 74 so I thought this was the one. Turns out it’s a 71.
I'd replace those front strut tops before racing/tracking it....
