Definitely not a 1980. Looks more late 60's. They are fun cars and it hasn't collapsed in the middle yet so there is still hope. Just looks like the steering wheel is on the wrong side.
Edit. Early 70's now that I can see engine pics, it's got emissions equipment but the old style head lamps and grilles with the tiny bumperettes.
