I don't want to do this, but I'm moving soon and won't have a garage to store this in and could use the cash anyway. Has some history here on GRM through a few sales. I picked it up non-running in 2018 and it's now closing in on 1000 miles on the road legally. It's not perfect, even aside from the shedding paint but it gets up and goes. Passenger side lower rocker is the only soft spot of the body (about the size/area of a soda can) the rest is surface rust. Has some small dings.
I have $900 invested into it, pretty firm at $850
Here's some of the build info and links to the previous for sale threads. I kinda was going for light weight so the convertible top and frame has been removed, passenger seat is out right now but I have it. Door windows and panels removed.

New parts, Delhrin door bushings, upper and lower shift insulators, cheap eBay coilovers, fuel filter, clutch master and slave cylinders, isr perofrmance resonated cat delete, and rear brake calipers.
Existing parts (see some info in the previous threads) upgraded front calipers, LSD, 1.8 swap from a 1996, rear subframe brace, and Optima red top battery.
Has a set of 15" steel wheels (mismatched but ok all season) and a set of 15" Borbet wheels one with a bend in it though that created a shake at 30-40mph. Previous owner of the wheels said they had balanced out over two sets of tires. Wheels had been sitting for a while so it may be true, or the one may need to be repaired of replaced.
Anybody coming from the east coast through Cleveland want to throw this on a trailer??
Might end up parting it out soon...
Nobody wants a sub 1k running and driving Miata?
Great weather right now in the Northeast for a topless vehicle. Drove it to my friends house on Saturday and parents house yesterday. Doing great and about 900 miles on it since getting it back on the road.
Does this beast still have a heater? I wonder how it would be as a winter commuter with a fiberglass hardtop thrown on...

I thoroughly approve of this plan.

Yes it does still have heat. Doors have the windows removed so you would have to find parts or a cheap set of doors to be fully enclosed.

Do it.
Yeah somebody do it! Been on the road for over a thousand miles this year. I love this car, but between moving soon and losing a garage to park it in and trying to get my Mom into a nicer car it should really go.
Still looking to get this sold...
Running 1.8 swap Miata, weight reduced, and a great start on a 2020 challenge budget.
Or buy some parts out of a scrap Miata and give it all the bells and whistles again.

Emailed back. Plus added a couple more I took to the album that's in the first post.
This should be sold. Knocking down, stripping, priming and painting is easy enough that even I've done it.
It surprises me too that I haven't sold it yet.
i might just start parting it out and keep the shell for the project I'd like to complete with it down the line.
The next two days will be cold in the morning, but I'm going to drive this to work in the meantime.
If I hadn't had a rough few months I'd be heading north to pick it up.

Thanks for the kind words. If i wasn't having a rough year, I'd be keeping it myself. But desperate times and all.
On to Facebook Marketplace and maybe when I have $5 onto Craigslist...
Well I am looking for a cheap Miata, and this fits the bill perfectly. But I'm in Chicago, and getting this here is cost prohibitive.
The joys of Facebook Marketplace.
15 messages.
3-is this still available? Only message
6- lowball offers
2 - dumb questions
4 - eh, kinda ok, slight potential, actual conversations.
Now I'm searching for soft tops cheap to put one on for the winter...
Next up windows or full doors.
Why? Because I really want to keep this and I can be a little petty about some of the messages complaining that the reason they are offering $400 is because the cost to buy a top and windows is too much.

I have a drivers window from an NB with power. If you think it will work give me what you think its worth. I'm two towns over in Burlington too so not far away.
