Item: 2003 Ford Focus ZX3 Price: $5,000 OBO Location: Tappahannock, VA

For sale is my 2003 Ford Focus ZX3 that has been my track toy. One owner, 62,000 miles on the odometer. A couple of years ago, it made 221/162 on the dyno. Since then, I removed the temporary heat shield, and re-engineered the intake. While it only made 218/155 a couple of weeks ago, that is within tolerances.

The engine makes power all the way to its 7750 redline. It probably makes power above it, but since it uses an new OEM oil pump, we kept it there for safety. However, the camshafts are huge, and because of such, she has a rough idle, and if you aren't paying attention, can stall out easily. She is also loud. The exhaust has a muffler and two resonators, but it still is loud. But the music she makes!

Exterior wise, age is starting to catch up to her. The paint is still glossy, but she has her share of scratches and nicks. The front is probably worse for wear, but we all know how thin Ford's paint is. There is a tiny dimple in the rear hatch from when I was teaching someone how to drive a stick. But all of that is cosmetic! Nothing a bunch of stickers can't fix.

Interior is half gutted, since I used to daily her. Door panels and carpet up front, but gutted in the rear. Roll bar is welded in.

The goals I never got around to was expanding the roll bar out to a full cage, installing a tach that reads out past 7k, and converting her to a dry sump. The harnesses might need to be replaced based on age, but that may depend on race regulations, but otherwise are in great condition. However, I would like to start a new project, but I have no space or spare cash. So she will have to go, and I hope I can find a good home for her.

That is beautiful, my 03 was the same color, wheels, roll up windows, everything. Unfortunately it was just the zetec / automatic. If I had the money I would be there tomorrow. Good luck , hope she goes to a good home

Yup, AC still works. While losing weight is one thing, being comfortable in grid is another. Besides, its easier for the new owner to remove it than put it back on.

I hope the new owner tries rallycross on or size or preps it for stage rally. Great platform and all the correct bits on it. Hat tip to you on the proper mods to maximize performance on that chassis.
