2000 Mercury Grand Marquis. Tan cloth interior, analog gauges. Daily/winter driver for the last 2 years. Nebraska car, not rust free. Other than surface rust the underside seems pretty clean to me. Torque converter shudders in 3rd consistently. Since I put shudder fixx in it has never shuddered in 4th again unless the AC is on. AC works, by the way. Occasionally has a TCS and ABS error but that hasn't happened in a long time. Interior trunk button doesn't work, keyfob does. Cruise control works but sets off the horn if you hit the lower half of the ON button. Probably my fault, I replaced the buttons myself. I just turn it on by pressing the top half of the button.
Service in the last 10k miles:
Transmission fluid drained and filled (not by me)
Fuel pump and filter replaced (CEL for lean condition, fixed)
Ignition coils (me being dumb, they were cheap and I was throwing parts at it. I kept the old coils, they are probably fine)
Motorcraft spark plugs
Brake and parking brake hardware all 4 wheels
OEM size Yokohama all season tires on Soft 8's.
Changed the oil this week. Motorcraft filter.
Due for a wash and vacuum, I'll have to wait for the rain to pass first.
I don't know exactly why the TC is shuddering, it's been like that for 2 years now and I put most of my effort into my Miata, so I haven't done much in the way of diagnosis on this car. $600 is what it takes for me to part with the car, any less and it would be smarter to just keep it for another winter. I put a few hundred interstate miles on it last month while moving. Buy today, drive to work tomorrow.
