She currently has a 84 F150 that she just doesn't trust. She wants a more modern truck mainly so it's easier to get it worked on. This will be a haul trash to the dump and pick up manure truck. Yeah my mom is into horse E36 M3. My 99 Z71 with a 5.3 scared her with too much power. She really needs a 99 or newer GMT800 WT 2wd long bed V6. That's what she wants. Ok I know the first 3 responses won't be that but hey this is GRM so we'll keep an open mind. Anyone got something or if you see something let me know.

I don't think there's one other than reasonable? I think condition is the most important thing. Also probably I prefer the SE because I'll most likely be the one picking it up. Maybe out west so Lil Stampie can see out there. No rusty states.

It is 2wd and long bed. Sent to Grandma Stampie for her to look at. How close are you to it?
I'd say that looks like her new truck.
In reply to Floating Doc (Forum Supporter) :
She didn't like the dings on it but we're talking on the phone right now.
In reply to Stampie (FS) :
Maybe it doesn't apply to her, but when I buy a car for my wife it's best if it comes pre-dented.
In reply to Floating Doc (Forum Supporter) :
She got taken on her current truck way back in the day. It was a POS for what she paid. She's wanting to get a "nice" truck this time. I tried to explain it's a truck it should have dings. No go. She's stubborn. It's where I get my stubbornness.

Thats Brooksville/Crystal River-ish area. Hour away in good traffic?
I have written about Fastenal Trucks before. Expect single cab, long bed but V8. All are Dodge. Low option but not completely stripped.
Here is a link to their current inventory: https://vehicles.fastenal.com/
Near you, is one in Pooler, GA (Savanah). 2017 Ram Tradesman, 2wd w/ Hemi V8 and 48k miles for $16,400. Also one in Columbia, SC w/ 60k miles for $15.500
For the same price, it is hard to find a V6 Ram w/ under 125k miles. Dealership sample at $15,750
This might be at the high end of your budget but just something to think about if she's looking for something current.

In reply to John Welsh :
I'll run that by her. Thanks.

Does it leak (tube of caulk in the cupholder)?!?
Would the mileage on the odometer come from the odometer itself or the trucks computer? If i remember right those had gauge cluster issues and they got swapped frequently. Just dont want to have a lot more miles than advertised.
All of the Chevy trucks of this era can have the odo disabled by pulling a fuse. I detailed cars in the late 90's for fun money and most of the suburban/Tahoe's had them pulled.
If she doesn't want that 84 F150 anymore, any chance I could buy it for cheap?
In reply to slowbird :
There's a chance. I'll ask her. Don't know if you remember but you met her at the Challenge.
This one is a GMT400 but a V8 however, the 2500hd-heft will make it feel slow.

The seller is near Brother Dallas. Then, have him hand it off to the GMT400 restoration shop in Ablemarie to get it up to the expectations of Gram-Stampie
In reply to John Welsh :
I love that however we're avoiding the GMT400s because the early TBI parts are getting rare and the later spider injection sucks when it goes bad. I'm trying to find her something that the mechanic on the corner of her road heading out can say yeah drop it off and walk back this afternoon once it's ready.
Being not in the position to buy anything for myself, I'm spending my shopping time trying to find something for you...
I see you have 3 requirements: Chevy, long bed, V6. This choice only hits one of those since it is: Ford, short bed, V6.
In searching autotrader near you I was attracted to the larger tire so I looked. I will say, $10k for 10 yr old w/ 121k seems high but I'm a cheap sob. This seems to really be where the market is at. I then said, it will have to be a nice truck...I think it is.
'11 F150 w/ 121k asking $10.8k This means 3.7L Ford. I don't know much about this 3.7L. These went into Mustangs too producing 300hp. This site says the most common problems are water pump, cam phasers, ignition coils. The Carfax on this trucks reads very well. It shows one owner and dealership oil changes typically on the 5k interval.
- Brake flush and probably pads in April '17 at 103k and plugs at same time.
- The water pump was done June '17 at 104k...so that's done!
- The tires went on March '18 at 108k miles so they have 12k on then...should be still great.
- Sadly, I don't see anything about struts being replaced
Though a low trim model this truck still has some niceties like power windows, etc. My guess is this truck has never worked a day in it's life. Actually, searching the vin returns a female owner at the bottom of this page. Further search finds a page like this with her phone number. If interested in this truck, I would call her and see why she sold it. Was she running from a further expense? But, my guess is seems she just traded it in on a Ram truck.
In reply to John Welsh :
I would say of the requirements the only one set in stone is the long bed.
Does it need to be a truck? My friend has a 99 2500 Suburban 2wd for sale with the rear barn doors and the big block 454. $2k.
In reply to Mazdax605 :
Yeah cause it's no fun to haul horse E36 M3 inside a Suburban. Sounds like a good deal though.

I mean, you haul YOURSELF everywhere, though.
This will probably run forever.

This one is fairly close to me. If you need eyes on it, let me know. The inerior looks ratty as berkeley, but it might be a good runner.

There's a GMT800 2500 series in need of an engine install (crew cab long bed) for 2500.

I do remember! Tell her slowbird says hi.
