Here for sale I have my 1981 Chevy LUV Mikado. 4x4 2.2L Isuzu Diesel. 102,000 Original Miles. I bought this truck in Texas in 2011 & pulled it home to Michigan. It stays in my heated garage year round. It runs and drives well. If you are familiar with these trucks you know they are not fast but they get 30 MPG. Factory 4:10 gears. It has a 2" Body Lift on it. Dashboard is NOT cracked. As you can see in the pictures I have restored it to excellent condition.

-I HATE to think of selling my truck but I don't drive it enough & I purchased a Camaro this summer that I want to drive more.

This is the Mikado edition which means it came from the factory loaded with A/C - Power Steering - Chrome bumpers and a nicer trim package.  Clear Michigan title.

----- DO IT RIGHT OR DON'T DO IT----- -New Paint last year. I had a body shop match it to the original factory blue color. (Box came off and got painted underneath as well.)  -Brand New tires and wheels ($1650) 235/70/16 with a slightly offset wheel. (wheel center caps can be removed to access 4x4 hubs) -All Brand new shocks  -Frame Sandblasted & coated with POR 15 Chassis saver & top coated.  -Spray on bed liner. -All new Raybestos brakes. Master cylinder- Front Calipers- Pads -Rotors- / Rear - Wheel cylinders -shoes -drums- hardware etc.. All Brand New.  -All new exhaust - muffler - all joints welded.- no clamps.  -All new steering components.Tie Rods/ Dampener/ Idler arm etc.. -New front wheel bearings (OEM Timken) -New front CV shafts -New Timing Belt  -New Water pump -All new Accessory belts -New Battery -New Injectors (See pic of attached Receipt) -All new filters and fluids  -Fresh oil change (shell Rotella T 15-40 Napa Gold Filter) -New Fuel Filter -I custom installed a Class III Hitch to make sliding an insert in easy. ( I like to pull my little 5x8 utility trailer)  -Interior has new carpet.  -I DYNAMATTED The whole interior floor prior to installing the new capet.  -Custom fabricated new seats with flip down arm rest  -Original OEM Factory AM/FM stereo -Factory A/C is low on R-12 Freon. (It still has some charge left so it may have a small leak) -ORIGINAL set of rims and tires included.  -Not crashed. All Body lines are nice. / Doors open and close nice.  -Manual Crank windows.  -4-speed on the floor & 4x4 on the floor.

$11,500 OBO

At the end of the day, it's a chevy luv. How is it worth more than 2 or 3 grand?

Yep. Rare doesn't always mean valuable.

I might be able to understand the price if it were a proper restoration, not some bro truck.

Not big on the wheel choice, otherwise this thing is awesome. '82 is the last year for the LUV and might be a one year only body.

I could kinda see it if the luv was a well respected truck but they were the chevette of their era. Diesel is kinda cool but not nearly as cool as this guy thinks

I wish fueleconomy.gov went back to 1981 so I could verify the 30mpg hwy claim.

I had a p'up of similar vintage. The doors basically rusted off the hinges. Admittedly, I loved that truck. Made out of tin foil that rusts if you look at it too hard. Nice truck. Slow and nice. A time capsule. 11K? NO WAY.

I doubt it actually returns that in real usage... but I believe it. There are several other diesel pickups from the 80s on fueleconomy.gov that were rated >30mpg highway.

I'm not sure I believe anything in the state of Michigan can look that clean underneath.

My brother had a mid 80's ford ranger 4x4 that got up around 30 with some kind of a little rattly four cylinder diesel. It was actually a fun little truck.
