I'm guessing it's non running. Doesn't look like it has much in the way of rust!

I had a hunch the lust would be strong on this seemingly reasonably priced magic spinning triangle wagon.
Before Xmas I won't have time to get a look at it for anyone. After I could.
I will be in Peoria this coming week. I am seriously thinking about taking my truck with me. If it is good, I will rent a uhaul or something.
Any chance I could tow dolly this thing? I never done that before.

Probably not a 12A. Factory is a 13B, and that looks like the factory air cleaner, and looks like old script rotor housings, so my bet is the factory 4-port 13B. I wish I had more money, and lived closer. I miss my 74 RX-4 coupe. I love wagons by the way.
I don't think the no title thing is much of an issue in Illinois when dealing with old cars.
In reply to Mazdax605:
Oh snap. Just dropped some knowledge on me! I didn't think the 13b was in any Mazda until the GSL-SE in '84. I suppose the 13b was used in the REPU?

Not uncommon at all for old cars, and much easier to deal with in most states than anything made in the past 25 years. Virtually every state out there has a process for vintage/collector vehicles, otherwise few of the 60's/70's American cars out there getting restored would have any hope...
My parents had a pair of RX4s when I was a kid. One was demolished by a Firebird, which led to the second one. Both bought new, at least one needed apex seals at 50,000 miles I remember they did have the 13B though. They were gone before I learned to drive.
Same body as the 929 of the era IIRC.
The 13b was in the RX-4, RX-5, Roadpacer, Parkway Bus, and REPU before the GSL-SE.
I miss my RX-4. I wish I had gotten to finish it. I collected pretty much all the parts I needed, spent a lot of money on storage unit fees, and then sold it at a huge loss when I got married. Kept the FD, sold the RX4. Sometimes I think it should have been the other way around.
Having lived in the Chicago area my whole life I can assure you that the car has rust! It may not be the "whole in the metal" kind but there is rust! That rust on the surface of the bottom of the rockers causes me to think that the metal is already compromised. The reason these cars are rare is they rusted away, or the engine wore out and they were discarded. Those early rotarys were not known for their longevity.
It's easy to apply for a duplicate title in Illinois. People just don't want to pay the $100 fee and deal with the DMV when they think they can dump a car fast.
There has been a random abundance of rx3/rx4 in the Chicago area (craigslist). Normally the Puerto Ricans just hoarded them. Also titling it should I drag it back to MI would be easy. They let you title nearly anything!
I sent the seller 3 questions:
Do you still have it? Why no title? Does it run?
Response I get back: Yes I still have U can get title.
I decided I didn't want the car even though I had permission and was 1 hour away.

This statement makes no sense to me...
