We've been running this 1986 RX-7 Sport for 6 years. Last weekend at Halloween Hooptiefest we finished 13th overall with a stock fuel tank. She's fast.
She's also for sale as a roller (bring your own wheels). $2k with all the RX7 associated spares I have, which is not a small amount of stuff.

Hey Dave! I didn't know that was you in the RX-7. I was driving the #71 Toyota Cressida...the orange "Cheaties" theme. We were having a fabulous race. We were in 4th as late as 2:15pm on Sunday. About 10 minutes before I got in the car (at 2pm on Sunday) we lost the clutch. So I was out there using just 3rd gear. I was actually still turning respectable laps...around 1:30. I was also trying to conserve fuel as we weren't sure if we'd make it to the end. We went double yellow and by sheer instinct I went to put it into 4th to try to save fuel. E36 M3!!! I suck. I tried to rev match and get it back into 3rd gear...and killed the transmission in the process. Our day was over. Damn shame, I'm pretty confident we'd have finished 4th or 5th. Our team car, #43 RX-7 just like yours, finished 2nd so that was great!
So are you selling it for $2k as a roller or running? I know someone down here (Atlanta) who has interest in getting into LeMons.
Shame about your day. We ate 4th gear in our trans but the rest of the box was good enough to get us through the last hour.
This one is being sold as a roller. We've grown attached to the engine now and want to use it in the next chassis as a good luck charm.
