My FIL has a 1985 300 ZX Turbo with 22,000 miles. At 82 he can't comfortably get into/out of the car anymore and is thinking it might be time to sell. Where should I point him?
He's not up for dealing with the craigslist crowd, I was thinking Bring-a-trailer. Has anyone dealt with them and/or their buyers? Can a 82 year old, sometimes grump older gentleman be able to navigate BaT?
Any other ideas? I hate to see him just dump something like this, but it's not really my dream car either...
BaT, maybe Cars & Bids. Also, Radwood IIRC is going to launch an auction site on March 1st. As the car fits right into that territory, maybe hold off until then?
BaT (and I'm guessing, most of the other sites, too, it's just that my experience is with BaT) is going to be a bunch of work getting the car ready for sale. Unless your FIL is a decent photographer and spry enough to climb under/over/around the car, I'd splurge on the pro photo option. Plus you've got to make sure that they write a decent description, and then watch the notifications if/when questions come in. Again, I would expect all of that to be the same with any of the auction sites.
Oh, and get the car properly detailed before taking the photos.
Yes get pro photos and a good detail job. You can probably help him navigate one of the above mentioned places to sell the car.
