Always thought these looked nice, but didn't care for "big" cars. This fact that it has a 5-speed makes me look/want though. Thoughts on these??

Isn't that transmission desirable for some rwd conversion? I think I remember one of our no longer active members talking about it. I know his real first name, but can't remember his user name. He was in Columbia SC & had an LS powered E36
Asking $1500 makes this pretty reasonable!
Needs a trans pull for clutch/input so there is some work to be done. That work is cost prohibitive if you have to pay a shop for it but if DIY, it's probably pretty cheap. Same with window regulators.
Only one picture. I'd want to see the other side of the car for damage as well as a driver's seat shot for condition of interior.. I'd want to know tire condition too since if needed, that's an easy $800 expense!
I was a Ford tech when these were new and loved the idea of one with three pedals. Only about 2000 units produced. Saw, and drove, my first manual version just three years ago....
They haven't aged well in general, and the one I drove in particular. Broken plastics, rotten thru the rear wheel wells into the door jambs, etc. The engine was uninspiring, the trans was numb. I left that test drive with shattered rose colored glasses, and ended up with a first gen SHO instead.
Input shaft noise could be a simple as a throwout bearing, but who knows. At $1500, if it isn't ate up with rust, it would be a cool car to have for a minute but it's not a unicorn I lust after anymore.
