Just that you asked reinforces his point!
Kinda like ads I've seen "engine runs perfect, except for the hole in the side of the block from the rod"

I've got my grandfathers 100 year old ax. He replaced the handle in 1998, and I put a new head on it a few years ago...

I edited the ad to say decent, not all original.

We get it! And a bunch of REALLY cool guys here, with a ton of knowledge, and totally willing to share!

Please do not be offended, and stick around. They are worth it.

Just a few years ago, that was a $500 car. Post crazy, might be worth the 3. We just thought the ad was funny, not trying to be offensive. GLWS. (good luck with sale.. took me a bit to puzzle that one out, a couple yr ago!)

It would struggle to sell around here for that price right now. Non-running, no brakes, total rust perforation, mismatched panels, incomplete interior...$3k would not be price competitive in our market and I'm not sure it's competitive in that region either. bsucsy, you may have to adjust your expectations.

What else do you think would help me sell it?

Relatively simple to get running... do it then price accordingly.  If it doesn't run might as well need a motor swap to a stranger on the internet.

No check engine lights, well if it isn't running then of course no lights....

Sellers claims mean nothing to me as a buyer. If its not running with brake issues then it might as well be a parts car with a blown motor.

Not trying to jump on you but it does remind me of a GRM member a couple of years ago trying to selling a car that made bad noises before it stopped running.  Then they put in their ad "might just need a starter".  Nope the engine was dead.

It clicks, like a dead battery, but i replaced the battery, and put in a new starter.

I applaud you for including a ton of photos in your CL ad, including shots of the problem areas.

I'm not going to buy it, but I'd like to know how many miles are on this thing.

Yes, if you saw your ad today,  would you run out and buy the jeep as it sits for that price?

I'm not trying to beat you up on this,  I know prices are hot for everything right now. To get top dollar,  get it running and fix the brakes so someone can test drive it. If you put $400 into getting it running,  you could ask 4k, the fact that its in its current state gives a lot of hesitation to any perspective buyers. I personally would love an early Cherokee but I tent to think of buying a car for a value lower than what I estimate I could sell it for tomorrow.  Like if I get home and something catastrophic happens, its gone for little or fractional loss. I don't think I could get more than $1k for that as it sits in Virginia,  maybe $1,500 further north.
