I don't exactly understand it, but once-upon-a-time my sister dated a guy that raced these. He said they would cut the crank, flip one end 180* and weld back together to make a huge 2 cylinder.

These guys put on a Model T race every summer. It's a fun channel to watch, their shop is really impressive.
The yellow Merc or Packard at 15:05 looks like the one in Back to the Future.

I almost bought a really nice 1930 AA last year. Shortening and C-notching the AA frame seemed like a smarter way to go, rather than boxing and Z-ing a Model A pickup frame.
It would have complicated my life, but I kinda regret letting it slip away. I had actually gone to look at the equally nice 1926 Tall T next to it. He wanted $6k for either one. The truck was the better buy.
