Asking price: $4,000

The car is located in Sanford, FL (on the outskirts of the Orlando area)

I have owned this 1996 BMW 318ti for about 7 years.   It has been a dedicated rallycross car and occasional weekend driver the entire time.  I have moved on to another rallycross car and it is time for this one to go.

Specs

  • A rare slicktop with extra headroom
  • M44 engine with a Midnight Tuning ecu
  • Lightweight single mass flywheel and s52 clutch
  • Metric Mechanic VLSD with 3.45 ratio in a stock housing (prepared legal)
  • Bilstein B6 shocks with stock springs, M3 LCAB bushings.  Sway bars are off the car but are included in the sale.
  • Most of the suspension bushings replaced with polyurethane
  • Stripped interior, metal door panels, Corbeau A4 wide seats, gauges, switches and hvac controls still work
  • I have a ton of spares including an open diff, axles, lexan side windows, steering wheels, and a box of various 318ti specific parts.

The car is fully prepared legal except for the interior.  If I wanted to keep it and stay competitive in rallycross, I would buy some front carpet, door panels, and a half cage to run it in prepared rear.  Alternatively, a 2.8 swap and a Z3 steering rack would make it pretty fun for modified rear.

I have a Youtube playlist for major rallycross events.  This thread documents various rallycross, autocross, and Lemons rally adventures with the car.

I am happy to setup a co-drive with any prospective buyer but the local rallycross season is done for the year.  There might be a test and tune between Christmas and New Year and another on the last weekend in January.  There is a rallyx at The FIRM on November 23 but that event would require a pretty hefty deposit.

This looks fun, GLWS.  By "HVAC switches work" does that mean it has working AC?  It is Florida!

In reply to Hoondavan :

I apparently haven't figured out how to get subscriptions working on forum posts.

All the little bowden cables and microswitches to control the airflow, fan, and temp work.  The AC button works (and is pretty pricey to replace).  The compressor locked up a while back and I haven't fixed it.  The rest of the center stack is pretty much gone.
