Perhaps this is a good deal.

They could have at least washed the thing, but maybe this is a good deal if it's not really rusty. Seems like prices on these have been shooting up over the last 5 years.

A lot of unknown. Could be a good deal. A stout car and a classic shape

They definitely should have hit it with a pressure washer.

I used to be really into Volvo 1800's and have looked at a few over the years. They seem to fall into two categories, either nice ones (exceptionally clean drivers to show-quality) that go for $12-$25k or ratty projects that go for $2-5k. I think the gap is to account for the difficulty in fixing rust and the complexity in getting one of these restored right. I have seen this same gap in a few other classic cars, including the BMW E9's.

Unfortunately this one appears to be in (deep into) the ratty category, although it would be nice to see someone save it.

It's about $2k overpriced. There are cheaper ones on fleabay for a lot less in the same or better condition.

Choose carefully, the front and rear fenders are welded on.

Rust eliminates most as candidates.
