I don't know if this is a good deal or not but I've always been intrigued by the Yamaha/Costworth engine offerings. Figured others here may be similarly afflicted.

Ditch the taurus and keep the v8. Weld the cam gears, mount to a V6 duratec's manual transaxle, install combo into back of MX3.

I think it mounts to that transaxle...

Aftermarket rear end converted to fully independent?

Someone clearly cared very much for this car. It looks like a really good deal.

In reply to RossD :

I believe that some SHO guys have also used a Mazda 6 transmission in their manual conversions. Which makes sense because of all the Ford/Mazda technology sharing from that era.

Side note, here's a non-jellybean SHO for sale near me:

Would this engine bolt up to the Jag X-type manual transmission?  That would be a nifty setup.  The 3.0 Duratec engine only makes 230ish hp and an extra 70 would be entertaining.

I wasn’t aware these engines had a Yamaha connection?  I thought it was the earlier cars?
