Did you see my Jaguar at the $2019 Challenge? Did it look like I was having fun? Because I was. You, too can have that kind of fun, except better.
You see, my car was too nice to hack up for the challenge. The diff needed to be welding at the paint job should've been a fitting tribute to some famous racing Jaguar. Instead, I left it all stock because I drive it all the time.
This car, though? This thing is perfect. Gut the interior, weld the diff, sell the air suspension and replace it with nearly anything else. It's already green. Throw on some gumballs and voila, it's a d-type homage. Whatever you do, buy this car. Before I do.

If the electrical issues don't prevent the car from being started and driven, That's an AMAZINGLY great deal!
The seller says it doesn't start. I think it could be as simple as a weak battery, but I don't know.

I have two challenge eligible Jaaaaags, that's as much as I can suffer! Lol
Oh man. That's the kind of bad idea fuel I don't need to see before I close on my house. I love these cars, my grandpa had a XKR and a 4.0 S Type from that same era for quite a while.

It'd make for a wonderful fly and drive story

You don't need to weld the diff. Jaguar used either a Dana or the Salisbury equivalent since they first went to IRS . Decide which you have and pull the pumpkin from a Jaguar with positraction. Look at XJS from 1992 on. Go on line to Car-parts .com and see who's got one near you.
Depending on how rusty your exhaust system is it's an hour-hour & 1/2 to drop your whole assembly out.
Then pull the whole pumpkin out. Keep track of the shims location so you don't have to realign everything and swap it over. Remember to add the positraction supliment when you refill the oil.
