Doriftobros are such idiots.
Would be fun to drive, but that cage would have to go.

The funny thing is that it isn't actually legal, no wood steering wheels and the roll cage has to be padded by the driver and passenger's heads.

I'm well aware of the 1UZ noise and potential, my challenge car was an LS400. I'd be more tempted at the price point if it was an LS based swap.
Those first gen Cressidas have ome of my favorite lines as far as early 80s Japanese styling goes. The fact that this is a wagon only makes it better. Luckily(?), even if it was on the Ewst Coast, I cant afford it.
In reply to 914Driver:
I'm not a mechanical engineering or racing smarty guy, so, grain of salt here; I doubt a bolt together cage, with bolted down feet going through things like the rear wheel tubs or the flat floor (not knowing Cresida structure, I could be wrong, but that front foot looks like it just bolts to flat flooring and not anything really stiff) is going to do that much to stiffen the car. And the stuff going on in this image, with that tube going along the rear door opening, doesn't look all that hot. "kinked up mess" was my first thought, actually;
I bet there's guys that could grassroots build an inexpensive cage that would stiffen this thing and make it safer that the car's owner could have worked with. They'd use things like a welder instead of bolts. Tube with fewer bends. Foam wrapping for safety. Feet welded to solid structural locations instead of what's easy. It'd make the car harder to get into but a lot safer if done right. Along with that idiotic cane and wooden steering wheel that needs to get changed. Maybe then it'd be worth closer to the asking price. As it is, I think this stuff makes the car less safe than having it removed.
