This isn't exactly Challenge $$$ friendly, but this is one of the coolest haulers I’ve ever seen! It's a mash-up of 1955 Ford, Cadillac and enclosed trailer that he pulled off in an amazing way.

That's pretty cool. But as you said, I about choked when I saw his asking price.
I'm having a hard time figuring out where those custom wheel tubs are and what they accommodate. The cab floor and the inner fenders under the hood look like stock Ford. What am I missing?
In reply to Indy - Guy :
It's not as ridiculous high asking price as 90% of F B ads in my area. The COE trucks, when well done, have brought premium pricing for about the past 30 years now, after they became the rage for a bit.

The engine cover is apparently made from a wheel tub. Not remotely stock. Super minor work, but...
My 48's has the fenders, floor and mid engine box drastically different - major work, but not done as nicely.
Doubt I'll ever afford to move mine under its own power again, but I do have the trailer; now I just need a fwd 500ci

Either none, or ... Every. Single. Time.
A customer comissioned us to build a wicked LS3 powered Miata racer - he's shown up on GRM since. But he came to pick it up with a rat rod COE open car hauler. I'll have to see if I can find a picture of it, it was completely badass.
That's pretty awesome, but I'm not sure I would consider it at that price point, then again I can be pretty cheap.
That is super cool... Am i silly to be worried about whether the. Caddy front end is up to that kind of mass?

My old tiny phone, I finally saw what the ftrewall picture is showing.
Much better workmanship than the junkyard scrapper that originally put mine on the 87 dually.
I love everything about it and hope they get their price. It's worth what it's worth and it seems well done and well executed.

Thanks. I get it now. My brain kept trying to make the wheel tubs, wheel tubs...
In reply to Jesse Ransom :
Definitely not a f350 or better front end. Most of the weight should be carried by the trailer back. Hopefully big brakes and axles on that.
I would imagine he tied the eldorado front half ov the frame - engine/trans mounts, suspension and all into the existing trailer frame, and then set the cab over it. Doubt the builder ever planed on any weight in it. With the FWD, relatively easy. Prolly drives pretty decent. Without a load.
In reply to Jesse Ransom :
Without a load, he doesn't have all that much weight on it. I imagine that ol' FWD caddy was no lightweight.
Now, with a load?
But I imagine the builder was going for a look.
Although mine was done on a 1 ton chassis, the body mounts and step side bed show it was only built for looks. Didn't hold up well to being used as a truck
I knew that, and did it anyway
