Replica?

I guess if you turn your head sideways, squint your eyes REAL hard, and take a few too many edibles before you do...

They must work at a construction trailer company,  or something.  That's more diamond plate than I've seen in a long, long time.

I bet it is a great winter beater. All aluminum body. All enclosed. Most likely heated and AC.

I believe that's  a toolbox pulling double duty as a glove box:

The builder certainly put in a ton of effort to build this one.  I hope his next creation includes a bit more "taste"

What is a split shift 5 speed?  Is that 2 1/2 gears with overdrive?

I can't say I love it but I wonder if the cab come off. If that wasn't there I bet it would look a lot better. Also an interesting drivetrain choice. I'll give an A for effort, heck the execution even seems good in pics. Sometimes the difference between beautiful and cringe is very small.

I thought it was a high/low gear reduction (essentially giving 10 forward gears) for low speed truck torque operations (like off-roading)

Anyone?

In reply to SV reX :

Yes that is typically the deal, in old trucks it was with the rear axle but I think some have a high low split in the trans. Depending on load you can choose to use or not.
put vehicle in 1st low range, flip to high range, unload (with clutch or rev match) and it goes to 1st high, shift to 2nd while flipping back to low, load it, flip switch while gaining rpm, unload, etc etc. as far as revers I have never seen someone or done it myself switch from low to high, you just pick one, typically low.

I really appreciate how the folks here acknowledge the effort that went into the project and exercise restraint IRT aesthetic judgments. That shows a lot of class.

Restraint and class are not words commonly used in the same post with regards to this crowd...

Actually, this is really true here. These guys and gals will always acknowledge the effort and execution without a lot of judgment of how it looks. That's why this is such a great place!!
