Rumor I'm hearing is the owner is sitting on a $6.5K offer and looking for higher "bids" at this point. Not sure if that's true, but the info is from a buddy who is a professional car appraiser, so he usually has good info. At 6.5, its still a decent deal, I guess. Personally, I think it's kind of bogus to take "bids" after offering something for sale at a stated price, but whatever.

It showed up about 10:00 PM on the MiMiata Facebook page, listed at $6500,but he says he has multiple $6600 offers. He says he had 400 messages.
I think he put it up for sale without really understanding the current market and he's been overwhelmed with the response. He lives 5 minutes from me, and I'm the VP of the local Miata club,so I'm trying to touch base with the guy
