Why? Because they don't live up to it's appearance? They are essentially rebodied Kadette's. Nothing special.

Of course I may be a bit bias as I have a restored GT in my garage. Interesting toy and admittedly not as useful as a Kadette or a Manta which are more roomy. Unique though. But I wouldn't touch that one. Too hacked up. Would make a good parts car is all.

Read the whole thread, he messed with what I said. I like the GT. I knew a guy in high school who had one and always thought they were cool. I have looked at several of them over the years, just never found the right one. Either junk or way overpriced. Or both. Had a Kadette, seems like a hundred years ago now, that never did run right.
