Posting here as I doubt too many Porsche 911s are in the challenge classifieds. For sale set of 23 mm Sanders engineering Hollow front torsion  bars. Used about 5000 miles, too stiff for my rally project and Gathering dust in the corner of my garage. How does $200 shipped in c o n u s sound? I think these were about $4-500 when I bought them to track the car.

What year(s) 911?

They fit 1969 through 1989. Extremely stiff. Will need to go to 30 + mm on rear with these with these TBS. BTW do you know of anybody with a rear glass 4 19 69 through 1989 coupe?

OUCH! That's terrible! I hope all the people, trucks and house are OK.  Can't say I know of anyone with a window for it, but they did build them for a lot of years. Since it is a rally outlaw, as long as you are replacing the window I suppose you could find one in Lexan from one of the race suppliers.

And I don't need a sway bar for that generation, but it sounds like a nice item. Good luck with the sale and the 911 repair.

BTW, he means 30mm hollow, I think that's about 27 solid. I ran 21/27 solid in my sc racer.

Ok. A 31 hollow still should be about a 27 or more like a 28?

This is in Oxford Connecticut and has been for sale for a while. Probably asking way to much, considering that there is a Porsche shop in the same town and they would have snapped up if they needed one.

Not mine, etc...

Thanks for your search efforts.  From what I'm seeing at parts yards across the u.s. a run-of-the-mill rear window for a 911 ranges from $100 to $400. However purists being what they are some people are searching for a specific brand of glass with certain year codes to preserve the authenticity of whatever year they are restoring. Especially noticeable since Porsche used same size rear window from about 1965 to 1989. I guess people have to obsess about something. LOL but thanks again for looking for me.

I may be wrong but as I understand it when the Hollow torsion bar where developed manufacturers continue to call them the size equivalent and spring rate of of solid tb's to avoid confusion in application. Therefore, 23 mm front Halo were actually a little bigger. But who knows? I just know that a 23 Halo is stiff as hell

I don't have a spare rear window and can't use the torsion bars, but you wouldn't happen to have a set of 911 carbs would you?  Friday I bought another engine for my 906 project and it's missing carbs, fan etc, and the shroud.

You may want to be more specific on the carbs

Get me a complete part wish list and I'll pass it on to my Porsche guy and see what he has or put you two in touch. I personally don't have any of the ten or carbs

Many thanks!  Basically any carbs would be better than what I have for this engine - which is none, so Webers, Zenith...  Something "cheap".  Similar specs required for the fan/alt  assembly and I prefer an 11 blade.

What are you doing for induction on your rally car?  The lack of carbs on this engine may be an opportunity for me to look at other options.

Do you have? 2.7, 3.0, 3.2? What type of ignition? Tinware?

I'm just using the stock injection on a 3.2 87 Carrera

Unfortunately I've learned there's no such thing as cheap in the Porsche World

I have 2.0 - 2.7 stuff.  I was planning to use a 2.2 or 2.4 I have, but a running 2.7 showed up on Craigslist minus the stuff I mentioned for $1600.  I would rather have a 3.0 if I was going that "new", but I couldn't pass it up at that price.  Now I need some sort of induction.  The 906 was originally carb'ed, so I was planning to stick with that just for sake of simplicity and appearance.   You're right nothing is cheap on an AC 911.  It only gets worse regarding a 906.  Probably a set of Zenith TIN40s will be the cheapest way to get things going.  My knowledge gets pretty thin concerning the CIS and later cars, but I suspect even the early FI is more sophisticated than I could handle.  Used parts to used parts: any guesses on how a complete injection system compares to carbs, pricewise?

My "guy" is an old-time AC guy. MFI  stuff is thru the roof and complicate.  I'll ask him what he has laying around and if he has anything I'll put yall in touch.

I have three young kids so my priorities are not in the garage right now, but the 906 body is pictured under my reader's rides garage here if interested.  Most of the parts are packed in storage until we move.  If your Porsche connection can use the back half of a 910, I have one I don't need.
