FM's "Project Ron" is a nice 2003 that got a refresh and then got a full chassis and powerplant upgrade with some emissions legal turbo boost. The idea is a fully streetable Miata that can will also work well for HPDEs and track days. It'll do well at autox too but I suspect that turbo does terrible things for classing.
We did a build series on it, and now it's time for it to move on. It's up on BaT with no reserve. Obviously, 100% affiliated.

Wish FM did a poorer job of marketing themselves. That thing is gonna bring big money!
Cool car , Hope it does well ,
Did they give you the option of a reserve ?
In reply to calteg :
As the guy who did a lot of that high level marketing, I will not apologize! BaT bidders do value the FM name, to the point where BaT is willing to put our name in the auction description. They initially had it listed as a Flyin' Miata-Modified 2003 Mazda MX-5 Miata LS 6-speed (it IS the LS trim level) but I pointed out that might be misleading :)

They suggested it would do better without one. I don't think the lack of reserve will bite us given the early bidding.
It just moved out of my price range, dang. Wish I had more than $10. LOL, but seriously folks, that's such a cool car.
My NB build will replicate a lot of this and be somewhat similar. It just won't be burgundy or naned Ron. The labor is all on me too. I bet this car does well on BaT.
The car sold for $31,000, which I have to say is more than I expected. I'm quite happy about it, though, because it makes it much easier to do another build like this!

Congrats on the strong sale! More proof that the Flyin' Miata name means a lot to enthusiasts!

It also means buying from FM and replicating one of their builds is economical..... think my wife will agree?

I think you make a strong case.

It won't be an exact replica but it will definitely rhyme a lot. I looked under Ron's hood and ordered another part since it is compatible with the turbo install.
