Somebody save me from this:) This is on the list to start working on this summer, but I'd probably rather sell it.
Radical PR6. 200ish HP hayabusa engine, 900 lbs, big aero. Comes with trailer and three sets of wheels. Radical Canada dealer stopped by my house to check it out for me. Says it would cost 4k for him to get it prepped for racing, but that's his pricing. Needs carbs cleaned, new battery, oil change, and new tires. Probably 1-1.5k in parts if you can do all that on yourself. Has been sitting for 5 years.
I can post more pictures and details if anyone is interested. $12000 Car is in Leesburg, VA.
Needs carbs cleaned? I thought all busa's were fuel injected?
regardless - looks like a helluva car. and you're positively not going faster around a track for $12k. Someone should buy this and take it to the UTCC.

Hmmm. I'll have to check that. It's a very early PR6 car. When I purchased the car years ago, I thought my research said early hayabusas were carbs. Must be remembering incorrectly. Regardless, the car has been sitting with gas in it so something in the fuel system has probably been clogged up.

Yes! My main reservation with keeping this car is it's probably faster than I want to be going:)
These still are the coolest Radicals IMO. I wish I had the $ I'd pick this up.
Trailer $8000 check
2 sets wheels @ $1000 each check
Radical $2000 check
Just need to find a free production body.

Don't you put that evil on me. Already thinking of finding a friend out of work with a truck to drag that thing home for me.
California can I put lights and turn signals on this pretty please.
That's a bit too close location-wise for my wallet .
Do this have paddle shifters/allow for clutchless shifts? I know the Hayabusa does in bike form, but I also recall that the last Radical I sat in still needed a clutch for shifting.
Also, did the dealer say anything about the other limited lifespan components like suspension uprights?
Any NASA/SCCA logbook?

I wouldn't be surprised if it got converted to carbs as that was probably easier than trying to adapt the fuel injection for car use.

Clutch pedal, no paddle shifters. No log book, was used for autocross by previous owner in south florida. Autocross would affect lifing of components less?
Engine is about 70% of the way to scheduled rebuild, but radical dealer told me that was just for max horsepower for racing. Said not to worry about it for trackdays.
I'm your huckleberry.
Drop me a line: jbaruth@hagerty.com. Let's make this happen.

Tried to PM you but your "approved email senders only" email filter didn't seem to like my email.
If you want to hit me up with some contact details etc, please feel free to PM me.
So tempting.....I'm not sure I have the skills to not kill myself with this.
Sell off the new turbo Miata and Zoomboni, buy Radical, ?????, profit?
Trade a cobra chassis for the car by itself? You can sell the trailer then and make huge money from it :)
Got a deposit, so probably sold...

Can I come check it out once you get it??

I'd be offended to some degree if you didn't. Going to see if I can get it prepped for a NASA SU or SCCA P2 weekend at Mid-Ohio before the end of the year. I promised my wife we'd focus on her NASA season this year but let's face it any woman who expects me to do what I say for her is going to be at least partially disappointed!
This is me in the 54th car Radical ever made; originally sold as a Clubsport in '99 or '00. It was the D sports racer to have for a hot second between the Cheetah and AMAC era and the West/Stohr period which continues today. The first owner won a bunch of SCCA Nationals and Regional and went to The Runoffs a couple times. He sold it to the father of a friend, who kept it at a race shop in Pittsburgh who enjoyed taking his money as much as he loved racing. And while his skills on track never really equaled his enthusiasm, now that I've won a couple regional championships and had a hundred or so starts, I've realized his issues keeping the car out of the tire walls were in no small part due to the shocking ineptitude of the guy maintaining and setting up the car. Choosing the concentrate on his Spec Racer Ford, he sold me the car, much of the paddock gear, and lots of spares - some of which were even usable - for a song.
Fortunately I have machine and fabrication shops, lots of experience with composites, and road raced motorcycles for a while as well as sprint karts. And I'd been instructing HPDE and doing TTs with NASA and SCCA, so the leap to SCCA comp license school wasn't too terrifying.
From school in 2010 to winning the last MARRS series C sports racer championship took about 4 years. DSR/CSR became P1/P2 in 2014, and there wasn't enough participation until 2016 to take the first MARRS P2 title awarded. Last year my goal was to get qualified to go to The Runoffs, since it was at VIR, my second best track next to Summit Point, which is home. Also in the process I wanted to see If I was up to the challenge of being in The Deep End with the Deadly Serious People.
The way it shook out was that I did qualify and had the opportunity to go to VIR and do The Runoffs. Also I'd figured out on the long, long tow back from Mid-Ohio, after not being able to get down to 115% of the current P2 lap record, that ultimately my talent, fortitude, ability to stay 100% focused only on 3 days of qualifying and one race, and willingness to spend something like $7500 and more than a week of leave, on something where the likelihood of finishing mid-pack was probably less than that of a DNF.
The last thing I did last season was lead the Labor Day MARRS "wings and things" group from the green flag from outside pole for about a dozen laps running consistent 1'12"s and 1'13"s...
Until my right front valve stem failed, gradually, and the very gradual loss of grip eventually put me a couple feet off line exiting T1, and I looped it backward into the tire wall, driver's right, going about 60 or so. Fortunately I bought THE SET of Radical Prosport body molds in 2012, and have made molds for the rest of the composite stuff, as well as designing and making tools and fixtures to make my own suspension uprights, and many, many other parts. Soon I'll be able to make the body mounting and wing frames as well. Radical is obsoleting lots of Prosport and PR6 parts.
A PR6 with everything done right would be the best "old" radical, and my next rebuild will incorporate a lot of the PR6 improvements in my car. Though at this poine it's kind of George Washington's Hatchet - It's had eleven handles and three heads, but it did cut down the cherry tree.

Now we got celebrities on here driving up the price of our cars! Please buy this. And flog it. And film it.
In reply to Dave M (Forum Supporter) :
I might RACE against celebrities (I beat Caitlyn Jenner in a Vegas exhibition, and I beat David Donohue in a Grand-Am race because I DNFed a lap after him!) but I'm the absolute prototype of the dirtbag club racer --- this is gonna sit right next to my 2.4-liter SCCA Neon and my ex-Rains-Racing World Challenge Accord.
My goal is to get the thing on track for $20k total and then ruin the day of various Ferrari Challenge / 997GT3 typa dudes in NASA races. And I'll try my hand at P2 as well but I know better than to think I can hang with the serious programs there.
Hagerty has some DOUBLE PROBATION TOP SECRET plans for the year to come that might involve giving people a chance to drive various race cars. If that happens I'll drag this up and make sure there is seat time for the GRM faithful.

Man I'd appreciate it if you would "pull my coat" as they used to say about these cars. I've driven a handful of DSRs and CSRs but this is my first shot at actually showing up with my own. I can't message you because I'm too new on the board but you can email me jbaruth@hagerty

Count me in for some hottish laps.
So you're the talented Baruth? I've had a couple of events with your brother.
In reply to KyAllroad (Jeremy) (Forum Supporter) :
I'm not sure if either one of us is much of a genuine talent in a car. Mark is a first-rate musician and second-rate autocrosser --- I can match the data of the journeymen sports-car guys in IMSA/SRO but Chris Dyson really humbled me the one time we drove together.
Mark's real talent is shoplifting. Mine used to be arranging two separate dates per evening but I'm past my prime now. I *did* win a couple of Fortnite Battles Royale yesterday!
