Back on the market, buyer backed out. To be clear, this is a "book" chassis. It is NOT a 442 or other variation. The parts Miata has no title. I was going to register it in Vermont to correct that. No holds, first cash in hand gets it. Open to trades
I’ve come to the unfortunate conclusion that I will never get around to building this car so its time to move it along to someone who will. What you get is the following:
A copy of both Ron Champion and Keith Tanners books. Both are getting hard to find and expensive but are a great resource to build this car.
A “Book” dimension chassis that is 80% completed. I did not fabricate it, I’m its 3rd owner. It was built at a Miata race shop in Ohio that went out of business. The race shop was bought out By Midwest Miata parts in Ohio and all Miata parts removed for resale. I got the chassis from them. It was a roller with Miata driveline/suspension at one point. That said, all the suspension pick-up points looked sketchy (almost like they were Added after the fact) I removed the rear clip and added a Miata rear subframe. It is welded in but needs finished and braced. The rear does roll, making it easy to move around the shop. My plan was to also remove the front pickups that were added and replace them with a “book” front suspension.
I also purchased most of the bodywork from Kinetic Vehicles. I have a nose cone, scuttle, rear fenders and windshield mount/frame kit. All fiberglass parts are great quality, but as with any fiberglass part they need cleaned up and finished. This is $1000 + shipping in parts. Trust me when I tell you shipping was about as much as the parts themselves.
Along with this, you will get an NA6 Miata roller with NO TITLE for suspension parts as well as a great running and clean 1.6 motor/5 spd, ECU, wire harness and just about any other Miata part you can think of to complete the build. I do not have brakes for the roller, they wer not servicable. I was planning to register it through Vermont to ease the PA paperwork for the Lotus
So on to the most important part… Location and Price. It is in York Pa. I feel like $2000 is fair for it considering all you are getting. That said, If someone wanted to build it a challenge legal, I could be convinced to give a GRM Discount of $500 for headroom. Also may be interested in trades..
