Sadly, sounds like it had an off at SCCA Time Trial Nats.

Looks like it's already sold.

I wonder what it brought.

Yes they do! :)

Wood grain Miata? There has to be one out there, right?

I see that the bidding went up to $875 today.  What I don't know is if that hit a reserve or not.  I'll keep and eye on it and it should be updated tomorrow.

$875 bid = $1,420 all in after fees.

It is listed as "keys present but does not start."    Do Ford's still have that inertia switch that kills the fuel pump?

$875 wasn't enough to meet the reserve because now the Mustang is being offered with a "buy-now" price of $1,000 which is $1,652.50 all in with fees.  If no one grabs it at this price, it will go back through next weeks auction where the reserve may be lower (by a little.)

EDIT: and this is important...  The car is being offered in Mass and it seems that unlike some other states, like my Ohio, Mass does not allow sales of these cars directly to the public.  Can only be bid on through an authorized dealer.  Therefore for a "commoner" to buy this car will require a broker so expect an additional expense.  Maybe another few hundred dollars.

Thanks for the extra info, John. Can something from this Mustang be saved?

In reply to John Welsh :

Is it possible to get a vehicle shipped from one of these auctions?

In reply to Toyman! :

Yes,  but it's a rush job.

Vehicle must be paid for in full in 2 days or $40 per day and must be removed in 4 days of $50 per day.  So, getting it picked up becomes a rush job and might not be the cheapest version of shipping rates.

You also need a broker in order to buy the car.  That broker might have insight on shipping.

Edit: I do not have a broker to recommend since my state allows direct to public sales.

In reply to Toyman! :

I've had a couple IAAI cars shipped. I just use there shipping that is available through their checkout process.

They just broker it out to other companies to actually do the shipping. But if you get the shipping through them then you don't have to pay the storage fees.

Whereas I think if you tried to arrange the shipping yourself it would be at risk for the storage fees if it took too long for your shipping company to pick it up.

The shipping process has been just ok. The communication from the actual shipping companies has been hit or miss.

Looks to me like a grill, fender and taillights away from running.  What are those wheels, they look forged to me that's worth the asking price of the car.

The link says it sold.  Someone grabbed it at the $1k.

I started the process but didn't go through with it.

I remembered I was downsizing the fleet, not buying another project.

Tempting though.
