I've always kind of liked the early Bugs for their simplicity, though every time I drive one I decide against owning one.

This one looks fun with a 200hp(!) 2276...  I don't know the VW market well enough to comment on the price.

I dunno.  Something just doesn't grab me about it.  Maybe the bronzed chrome.

Ad says the bronze treatment would come off with acetone.  I agree though... it's a little too 'gold' for the rest of the car.

That gold on everything is awful.  I would love to see a dyno sheet to prove that it makes the power they claim.

Fun, but for $18,500?  Maybe they're more of a Unicorn that I thought.

Have you looked at vintage VW prices lately?

It's almost more of a hot rod market car with the patina, and folks are paying good money for that.  If the mechanicals are solid, and as advertised, the price doesn't seem that out of line.
