That makes my swiss cheese '73 look... even worse than before!
If I wanted to start a restoration project, I'd be way closer to finished vs. what I want to do to mine. Ugh. Ugh ugh.
About 20 years ago, I bought a '73 Capri for a fraction of what this one is selling for....and then let it sit. Mine was a 4 cylinder with automatic (yeah, but I bought it because that combo is the easiest to keep running from a mechanical standpoint, or so I thought) and it didn't look as nice as this one. Killer points to look at on these cars is the windshield pillar, and the rear edges of the front fenders as they are welded on and a rust trap. The trunk lids rust at the bottoms, but that won't make them undriveable and there are (or were?) fiberglass replacement trunk lids.
I live about 50-75 miles from Cresent Beach, but while I really dig Capris I know they can be difficult to get into and out of when you are 6 foot 4 and a bit arthritic. These cars look even smaller when you are next to them...like a 2/3rds scale Mustang.
But yes, it does need to be saved and at this price / condition it looks like a decent buy.
