Aww man, I was hoping to see a Vanagon instead of a Eurovan. Not that that's bad, just not what I expected.

I actually thought one of these would have been great for travel when the kids were little with the club seating in back.
I guess I kinda assumed you could get a TDI-powered Eurovan from the factory. I guess not?
At any rate, I feel like that TDI engine would turn an already great cross country traveller into an even better one.
TDI was available in Canada, also no Chicken Tariff so the panel version was available.
How hard to retrofit the 5spd from same generation Jetta? And are those FWD?
I think a couple years ago someone on here did a 5spd swap on one but with a VR6 .
Yup, FWD. I'd love to have a Rialta, but the demand for them has stayed high enough to keep prices up. It'd be kind of like a Vixen, but you can get parts for it.

It was the original base engine in the US model.
That's why I was curious. The Eurovan gas engine was a tall deck long stroke Audi five, and they made a TDI version but I don't know what they came in.
