The challenge car is one of the few that doesn't just look good in photos. It's really well built.

Good memory. I thought 12 something. So the big question (for anyone, not just patrick): for $500 could you drop 0.5? I don't think he was running nitrous and the turbo was stock IIRC.
I just so happen to have a 302/5.0 sitting here on a shelf. How involved is the swap? I never looked into it, but that sounds like cheap fun.

You might be thinking of older volvos. I believe these are FWD (some AWD). So, let's say the swap would be pretty involved.
I'm also quite sure the current engine makes more power than a stock 302.
Wow, I'd like to have the Volvo S70 for Weds night drag racing in Norwalk.

1990 w/ 75k miles, runs great, look great. Near stock.
1994 w/230k on odo but replaced engine and replaced trans. Actually a 5 speed manual trans from 300z turbo. Runs and drives but rough body.
We were planning on bringing the car back to go 11s, still might if doesnt sell. Remove over budget suspension, seat, steering wheel, strobe lights etc.... spray or bigger compressor wheel/intercooler
Is there a build thread? How is this car making 12s? What's the story with the wagon? Also making crazy power?

no real build thread on this car, that would be boring, but long story short. Massive weight reduction, 3 inch DP, intake, Manual boost controller, race gas, slicks and driver mod. Wagon is a DD i coudnt pass up, all stock, and does all the chores.
SOLD Challenge car, gotta admit I'm a little sad as we were planning to bring back and didn't realize I would sell so easy

Wasn't me (I never actually tried to buy it as I have other things to focus on) but if the buyer needs any help I'm about 45 minutes from the Volvo. I have a tow dolly, I have room to hold it. I also have lots of experience with arranging shipping for cars as well as an easy place to ship from.
