Zink was an American race car manufacturer most known for Formula Vee and Formula Ford models. I have a couple Z10s which are Formula Fords. I don't know anything about the Z4, but it appears to originally have been a sports racer in the mid 60's.
That's definitely not a sports racer. Since it has a set up for a pulley drive, it may be a Z-19, which was Formula 500.
The add says Formula 4. Yes that is/was a class. It never took off here in the USA. This one is much earlier than a z19. F440 didn't happen till the mid 1980s. F4 was a thing as soon as F Jr. ended.
Part of me is glad that's 1300 miles away so I don't have to be tempted.
It definitely looks like it was set up to be a F440/500, so it's likely the ad description is wrong?
In reply to Ian F (Forum Supporter) :
Not set up to F440 rules because it has springs and shocks. F440/F500 requires the rubber puck thing.
I'm having a hard time figuring out how the rear suspension works. Is the drive belt meant to absorb the misalignment as the axle moves around? Either way, seems like something that small would be a rocket with a modern sportbike 600cc motor.
