I wasn't debating FL law. I was recognizing how they were designed and built from the factory with a top speed of 35 mph.
With a drivetrain swap? Yep. Appleseed's got it.

Pretty certain challenge competitors do not feel restricted by factory structures...

You were being a know it all that actually didn't know it all. Sorry if the truth hurts.
In reply to Stampie :
No, I was offering a little bit of levity. Sorry that humor is challenging to you.
Is there a reason to assume such negativity??
I've driven one. I'd rather not again.

We can all hold Stampie's beer bong and see how fast he thinks is "safe enough" to go.
...but I was thrilled to see Mr Joshua bring one to the Challenge (I helped him unload), and I can't wait for him (or someone else) to bring one back.
Stampie, have you looked at this site? It seems to have a few with clear titles.

I have not. I will once I get some time. Already see one I like but no price which to me means they know what they have.
Nothing seems to have a price listed. Maybe you need an account to see prices or something? I did see on barnfinds that a couple years ago someone sold a 72V converted model. The Comuta-car version with batteries in the fron bumper looks to help get space for that.
This one just popped up (again?, I feel like its been posted before).

If someone doesn't turn one of these into a LMP360 clone but looking like an enclosed McLaren M8D, Chaparral 2J or Dome RL this is a horrible missed opportunity.

That car is about 10 miles away and my trailer is empty.... I can hold on to it for ya!
Gather they're 8 6v batteries in series for 48v based on the white one above. Can you run 8 12v batteries wired as 2 separate banks of 48v (4 each bank) in parallel? Would that give any benefit if so besides more affordable batteries?
In reply to Foodeater :
Dear Foodeater.
Please tell me your user name is in fact a reference to the movie "the rivers edge"

An absolutely awesome and little known movie
The 1986 version or the 1957 version?
In reply to Brotus7 :
Oh ... now I'm tempted.

The original speed control was just a 3 speed switching between 12v 24v and 48v. I'll be looking at a modern infinitely variable speed control you know like a gas pedal. I'd convert to a modern 48v battery.

It is 100% a reference to River's Edge.
