Although the name of this Alfa Romeo might not sound familiar, you’ve likely seen the shape before. A similar Alfa Romeo 6C appeared on-screen in “The Godfather.” (Sadly, the car, like so many characters in the film, would meet an untimely end.)
Although the Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 dates back to the 1930s, this 6C 2500 Sport Freccia D'Oro (which means Golden Arrow) is among the very first Alfa Romeos produced following the end of the Second World War.
Only 680 Freccia D'Oro models were ever made, each one hand-built in-house at Alfa Romeo’s factory in Portello.
Find this 1947 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Sport Freccia D'Oro going up for auction from Bingo, date TBA.
