Does every upgrade have to make a car faster? What about making it easier to drive and live with?
This Triumph TR6 has been upgraded with a five-speed gearbox sourced from Toyota.
Billed as having been refurbished before current ownership, the TR6 also comes with a clean Texas title and a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate.

I put a Toyota 5 speed in my TR4A IRS - what a difference!
I have owned two TR6's. The first, BRG had the Toyota 5 speed and frankly it was the best thing I ever did to it. The relaxed RPM's at freeway PLUS speeds made the car a joy to make longer trips and drives iin. My current TR6 is a candidate but motor issues will be dealt with first. The toyota 5 speeds are becoming harder to find.
Glad to hear that you both had good experiences with the Toyota five-speed. It'd be high on my list of upgrades if I ever got a TR6 or something similarly British.
I too have the Toyota 5-speed and love it.
In my MG ZA Magnette, I used a Ford T9 5 speed when I upgraded to an MGB 1800 engine and really enjoy it. My son and I just got done building a new engine for his MGBGT daily driver and we added the T9 to his car as well. He is over the moon happy with how much better his car is on the highway with 5th gear.
