What makes this Ferrari 250 GT SWB California Spider special? It’s the second of 56 short-wheelbase examples built. One of 18 with uncovered headlamps. One of three built without side vents. And, just one of two with a Tipo 128 F engine.
This car’s been places, too. Ferrari displayed it at the 1960 Turin Motor Show. It also ran the 1962 Targa Florio, finishing third in its class and becoming the only Ferrari 250 GT California Spider, of any kind, to compete in the storied race. Add to that history some more recent events from around the world, such as The Colorado Grand, Cavalcade, Cavallino Classic, The Amelia and Retromobile.
This example retains its matching-numbers engine, gearbox and rear axle. It was restored “by Italian craftsmen from 2013 to 2016, and recently refinished in its 1962 Targa Florio livery.”
