Aston Martin debuted the Volante as a transitionary model between the DB5 and the DB6. Aston Martin had some DB5 chassis remaining, so they created 37 examples of the Volante that also carried some DB6 features.

This Volante underwent a restoration during the early 2000s and has since covered just 3100 miles.

This example had some changes since new. It has an upgraded 4.2-liter engine, with a cylinder head rebuilt for lead-free fuel. The Volante has also been converted from right-hand drive to left-hand drive.

Find this 1965 Aston Martin DB Short-Chassis Volante up for auction at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated value of $1,400,000-$1,800,000.
