Certainly, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing wasn’t produced in exceptionally large numbers. Surprisingly, though, not many were sold new in Germany, from 1954 to 1957. Just 98, and this is one of them.

This Mercedes-Benz retains its matching-numbers engine, chassis and bodywork. It underwent a nut-and-bolt restoration by 300 SL specialist Hjeltness Restoration, and maintained by them thereafter.

How good of an example is this? According to the seller, it has “multiple concours d’elegance awards and former Best of Show winner.”

Find this 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupe up for auction at Broad Arrow Auctions, with an estimated value of $1,500,000-$1,800,000.
