BMW produced 2543 examples of the Z8 for North American market. This one, however, is just one of three to come with the Dinan S62 Daytona prototype engine. What’s the big deal about that? Well, it’s a 5.0-liter V8 rated for 600 horsepower. The regular version put out just 395 horses.

Those numbers certainly attract the attention, but its provenance might, too. NFL running back Cedric Benson owned this Z8 and it has been retained by his family after his death. Benson, who died in a 2019 motorcycle accident, earned the Doak Walker award, which honors the top running back, while playing for the Texas Longhorns.

The Z8 has a bunch of features that a performance-oriented enthusiast would want: dry-sump oiling system, six-speed manual, Hamann exhaust and Dinan carbon fiber air intakes.
