Do vintage race cars have to cost more than a new SUV? Not always, as demonstrated by this 1964 Ginetta. Price is $36,000 and the logbook goes back to 1988.

Dyno sheets indicate its 1.6-liter Kent engine produces around 162 horsepower.

Gear changes are handled with a four-speed dogbox that the seller notes is “outfitted with a very tall 1st gear,” with the rest of the powertrain comprised of a “409 limited slip” and inboard disc brakes.

As for the car's logbook, it indicates that the Ginetta competed in a number of different track events and races since it was purchased by its current owner. More recently, records from 2000-'18 show the professional replacement of the head gasket, servicing of the brakes, and even the building and installing of the current engine.

Inside the cockpit, the Gineta comes equipped with a fire suppression system and a competition five-point seat belt.
