Looking for a vintage race car that’s not just ready to compete, but comes with a documented racing history, too? Try this 1966 Shelby GT350 on for size. Oh, and did we mention it's available for less than $200,000?
Originally shipped to its first owner with an automatic transmission in 1965, the GT350 would later be transformed into a vintage race car in the 1980s. During that time, the Shelby was fitted with a number of upgrades that include a Ford Top-Loader 4-speed gearbox, full roll cage, oil cooler and improvements to the suspension and brakes.
Currently, the car is powered by a 345 cubic-inch V8 built “approximately six years ago” that is rated at 470 horsepower at 7000 rpm. The seller also notes the Shelby last ran at Sebring around the same time the new engine was placed.
