What did Dick Patterson, aka Mr. Rudie from “Grease,” drive? Apparently, a Volkswagen Beetle. This one, in fact. He and his wife, Pat, daily drove it, too.
It was stored for 15 years before undergoing a complete restoration. During the process, the numbers-matching engine was overbored to 1600cc and upgraded with performance parts to give it a little more spunk.
The car comes with an owner’s manual, a maintenance card with stampings dating back to 1966, and a typed recollection from Pat Patterson about their time with the car.
Find this 1967 Volkswagen Beetle Sedan up for auction at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated value of $30,000-$40,000.
