Some collectors might know when their classic rolled off the assembly line, but what about the name of the ship that transported the car to the United States?

This Shelby Cobra from 1964–CSX 2133– features a well-documented history that goes all the way back to when the car was billed to Shelby America: May 20, 1963. (And, for those curious, the SS Dongedyk was the ship that brought the car to Shelby’s factory in L.A.)

The seller does point out that the original 289 cubic-inch V8 has been replaced with a “balanced and blueprinted” 289 engine. Shifting is handled by a four-speed Ford Toploader.

Find this 1964 Shelby Cobra 289 for sale from Classic Auto Mall for $985,000.
