Pietro Frua was one of the highly regarded car designers of his time. While most of his works were one-offs, he’s best known for penning the Maserati Mistral and AC 428. This Fiat 127 Dinghy is a one of one, and with an estimated selling price between $10,000 and $20,000, it’s a chance to own a rare work from a legendary designer.
Frua used the 1972 Fiat 127 as the foundation for his creation. It was completed in 1977, and shown at the Geneva International Motor Show that year.
The car spent some time decommissioned in California and is said to be in need of a restoration, although it does run and drive. The odometer has just 17,000km (roughly 10,500 miles). With the right care, this car could become a fun vehicle that presents well at both the local cars and coffee and at well known concours.
