A Volkswagen Type 2 not enough of an oddball for you? How about one built for use as a fire engine? This 1977 VW Type 2 originally saw service in Southern Germany as part of a volunteer fire corps, used primarily for promotion and training.

Today, the VW shows only 25,177 kilometers since new–or about 15,644 miles–and comes fitted with warning lights, sirens and a roof rack, plus custom-made storage for holding fire service equipment in the interior.

Billed as largely original and always kept in a heated garage, the Type 2 is reported to be in top mechanical condition.

Find this 1977 Volkswagen Type 2 fire engine for sale from Gallery Aaldering for $30,785.
