This convertible Thunderbird, one of only 2134 produced in 1958, was restored from 1998 to ’99 from the ground up. The restoration, combined with the rarity, led to the car winning multiple shows, including the AACA Grand National First Prize in 2001.
Ford originally offered the four-seater Thunderbirds as coupes, but the convertible versions became a benchmark of personal luxury. The reverse-hinged rear deck on the top and the aircraft-style console that conceals the drivetrain tunnel create a sleek, fresh look for both the interior and exterior.
Find this 1958 Ford Thunderbird Convertible for auction at RM Sotheby’s with an estimated value of $30,000 to $50,000. It will be shown at Hershey 2024 on October 9.
