If you’re looking for a Koenigsegg supercar with unique features and a bit of history, this CCXR has it. The supercar company built it as a factory test car, and now is available to the public after just one owner.
The public first saw this car in 2006 at a gas station, sans CCX badges. Then it wasn’t seen for another six years. Koenigsegg used the car to assist with testing for the European Testing Institute. The company advanced the odometer reading to meet the test requirements, making the current 18,698 kilometers recorded more than actually covered. To the tune of one-third to one-half the current total.
It was likely that the company used this CCR/CCX to develop the CCX, given some of its unique features, such as air vents behind the front wheel arches (different than any other Koenigsegg) and windshield washer nozzles positioned differently than other CCXs.
The car reappeared in April 2012 at the Gran Turismo Nürburgring event. This time it had CCXR badges on it, which indicates it was also used for a CCXR test program. It had decals “STREETFIGHTER 7031” and “Koenigsegg Official Testcar” on it.
The largest shareholder in Koenigsegg Automotive AB, Bård Eker, purchased the car new, and has been its only owner.
