Ever use a cheat code in a video game to give your character a little extra power from the start of the game? This Porsche 911 SC Targa is a lot like the automotive equivalent of that.

While it may look like a fairly standard 911 SC Targa, this Porsche is a rare “Leistungsgesteigert” model featuring a factory-uprated 3.1-liter engine.

To make an “Improved Performance” 911 SC, Porsche used pistons from a 911 Turbo, a 9.5:1 compression ratio, a taller final drive, and improved fuel injection and cooling systems.

In total, these upgrades increased output to 210 horsepower and enabled the car to reach a top speed of over 140 mph.

A gray-market import brought into the United States in the 1980s, this 911 is believed to be one of less than 150 made and the only one of its kind in the United States.

Find this 1980 Porsche 911 SC-L 3.1 Targa up for auction from Sotheby’s Motorsport.
