Lotus built less than 300 examples of its iconic Eleven sports racer, and this is one of them.

According to Lotus historians, this Eleven is believed to be the very car tested by Road & Track for its September 1957 issue.

As part of a restoration completed “some years ago,” the Lotus was fitted with a 1261cc Coventry Climax FWE engine.

Find this 1956 Lotus Eleven for sale from Fantasy Junction, price available upon application. As a point of reference, Hagerty currently values a Lotus Eleven in No. 2 condition at $169,000.

This beauty is from the era when "The tires were skinny, and the drivers weren't!!".

Except have you ever seen how narrow the interior of an Eleven is? The chassis is just as narrow as a Seven inside, so you need a small driver as well. This car was originally an 1100, so no torque to pull a big driver either.
